Adding maps to the game:

Right click on Counter Strike 1.6 .app and select "Show Package Contents" to go this path; 

Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CS/cstrike/maps



You can find maps on this Web site;
 
http://www.cstrike-planet.com/maps/cstrike

In order to install maps, you gotta unarchive your downloaded map and find .bsp and .txt map files.  After finding these files, put them to the path posted above with the maps included. 



Playing Online:

While you are in the game, click on "Find Server" and you can reach to CS 1.6 servers on "Game" tab.  Do not try to connect "Counter Strike: Source" servers, they won't work. 




Minimum System Requirements:

MAC OSX 10.5.8 (GAME DOESN'T WORK ON LION OS)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz Processor
512 MB RAM System Memory
All dedicated 128 MB vRAM Graphics Cards



This is a Cider ported game and bots added.  All you have to do is to unarchive the game with an archive utility like BetterZip or UnRarX and put the game (Counter Strike 1.6.app) into your Applications folder to play.

Technically, game size is 844.1 MB. I archived it for you to approximately 430 MB so you can download asap. No Password for the .zip file and please seed since there might be some fans for this classic game.

+ if you have an "invalid authentication certificate length" problem, just goto this way and find config.cfg file. Open it with texedit and delete setinfo values;

I found just this 2 files (setinfo "_vgui_menus" "1"
setinfo "_ah" "0") and delete them but stil give the same message invalid ..... I solved the problem with master servers but this one not :-( please help me.

Works on Mountain Lion. You need to create a new folder named "Counterstrike Preferences" at MacHD/Library/Preferences/
Then download the Cs1.6 Master Server

By the way after creating that new folder,that's it.
The master server instruction is different.
Download,right click on the file,show info,scroll down make sure everything is Read Only then replace the same file from..
Contents/Resources/Transgaming/C_drive/Program Files/Counter-Strike/ then scroll down look for the folder named "Platform" then Config.
You can find these folders by: Right click on the Cs app,show package contents. That's it.
